ABOUT US

We have stood the test of time…

Established in 1962 by James Sr. and Edna Ballard, their commitment to excellence as been a sustaining factor in what is now 55+ years of service to our clients.

With the second generation now handling the day to day operations, we have blended our years of experience with today’s technical advances in order to provide our customers with the excellence expected in this demanding industry.

James Jr. (Jimmy) together with his brother John, have incorporated the lessons learned from the past with their energy and the innovative spirit they both embrace, to lend momentum to a well planned expansion. Jimmy served as Vice President of Operations for over twenty years before taking over as President in 2008.

His many years of “hands on” leadership has made the transition so smooth, that few people including our employees ever knew of the transfer of ownership. In fact you can find Jimmy on any of our projects in the midst of a flurry of activity…but don’t look for a white hard hat, his is yellow, just like the newest member of the team.

As our reputation for quality and value continues to grow, we are frequently asked to travel to other areas to handle “special” projects. These requests and the frequency of them have encouraged us to expand our operations throughout the East Coast, traveling as far as Vermont for Costco Wholesale/Novak Construction Co. based in Chicago IL

Beyond the pipes and wrenches…

In addition to providing quality in our workmanship, and value to our clients…we’re involved in the community at large as well. We seek to make an impact in the lives of our employees, families, and neighbors, through our involvement with the local chapter of Associate Builders and Contractors Inc., Craft Masters Training and great causes like Domestic Violence Awareness. We encourage our employees to be “Difference Makers” on the jobsite and within their personal sphere of influence, as well. To that end we’ve been blessed to contribute and partner with Reach Global Crisis Response Teams, KAIROS Prison Ministries, CRU at University of MD, and Springbrook High School Girls Varsity Basketball, Lacrosse, and Field Hockey Teams, Annual Clarksville Picnic, and other community outreaches.

“The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have.”
